PDP Sues Tinubu, Senate To Court
The Peoples Democratic Party, Ikwa Ibom State Has Charged President Bola Tinubu To Court For Allegedly appointing Etekamba Umeron As The State's Resident Electoral Commissional
In their originating summons, which were filed on Tuesday, the complainants are requesting the court to declare that Umoren is not qualified to be appointed as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) since he is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). To support their claim, they have attached colored photographs of Umoren participating in APC campaign activities for the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The complainants argue that the Constitution, as the supreme law, must be strictly followed when determining how the President carries out his function under Section 154(3) and who qualifies to be appointed as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) REC for Akwa Ibom and every state in Nigeria. They assert that the unconstitutional appointment of partisan officers into INEC is the starting point for election rigging, a significant problem in Nigeria's democracy. They believe this practice should be resisted for the benefit of all citizens.
The court is also asked to declare Umoren's appointment illegal, null, and void, particularly noting that Tinubu failed to consult with the Council of State before making the appointment on October 25, 2023.
Among other requests, the complainants seek a declaration that Tinubu cannot present Umoren to the Senate for confirmation as REC for Akwa Ibom. They also seek a declaration that Umoren's appointment as REC is unlawful, illegal, unconstitutional, null and void from the beginning and of no effect.
The complainants further request a perpetual injunction to prevent Tinubu from presenting Umoren to the Senate as REC, as well as an injunction to stop the Senate from confirming Umoren for this position. They also seek an injunction to prevent Umoren from acting, assuming office, or portraying himself as the REC for Akwa Ibom.

2. Low Maintenance: Cats are generally low-maintenance pets compared to some other animals. They don't require constant attention and can be independent.
3. Stress Reduction: The act of petting a cat can reduce stress and promote relaxation.
4. Entertainment: Cats can be highly entertaining with their playful behavior, hunting instincts, and quirky personalities.
5. Rodent Control: Many cats are natural hunters and can help keep your home free of unwanted pests like mice and insects.
