In the outward Apapa area of Lagos State on Sunday around 5 pm, an unidentified man suffered injuries in a car crash involving two trucks.

The collision severely damaged both vehicles, as depicted in a video shared on the official Lagos State Traffic Management Authority's X handle. The footage highlighted one truck with a completely shattered windscreen.

Adebayo Taofiq, the Public Relations Officer of the agency, confirmed the incident in an interview with PUNCH Online. He explained that the accident occurred due to overspeeding, with a truck bearing the registration number T382-LA colliding with another moving truck.

Fortunately, LASTMA personnel swiftly intervened, rescuing the driver who had sustained injuries to his left leg.

The injured driver was promptly transported to Apapa General Hospital for treatment, assisted by police officers from the Area B Police Command in Apapa. Taofiq emphasized the severity of the leg injury and mentioned that the towing vehicle was promptly deployed by LASTMA personnel to clear the damaged truck from the road.
