US Police Arrest 14-Year-Old Student After School Shooting Leaves Four Dead, Nine Injured


A 14-year-old student of Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia has shot two students and two teachers to death.

According to Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey, Nine people were hospitalized, four with gunshot wounds, the bureau said.

The suspected shooter, a 14-year-old student at Apalachee, was taken into custody by the school resource officer who engaged him, Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said at a news conference.

The High School received a phone call this morning warning there would be shootings at five schools and that Apalachee would be the first, law enforcement sources in Georgia told CNN.

The shooting is at least the 45th school shooting in 2024, according to a CNN analysis.
