Mr. Ibu To Undergo Further Medical Treatment Abroad - Family

The family of the renowned Nigerian comic actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has provided an update on his health. In a statement posted on Mr. Ibu's Instagram page on Tuesday, October 31, they expressed their gratitude to the general public for the immense support, encouragement, and prayers during this challenging time.

The statement read, "We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to God and, most importantly, to the wonderful public for their unwavering support throughout our father's medical journey.


"We appealed to fellow Nigerians, and their response has been overwhelming, especially in terms of generous donations which arrived at a crucial time and proved incredibly helpful.

"To date, Mr. Ibu has undergone five successful surgeries and is currently in the process of recovery in the ICU. He is profoundly thankful, and we extend our appreciation to the public for standing with us during this phase of our lives. Our sincere thanks to each and every donor, and as soon as our father's health permits, he will personally acknowledge these contributions.


"We continue to rely on your prayers and steadfast support as we hope for a swift stabilization of his condition, which will enable us to transport him abroad for further advanced treatment. The entire John Okafor family is deeply appreciative of the support from all Nigerians."

FLASH: OAU Grieves As Another Student Dies

Tijani Abdulkareem Students of Obafemi Awolowo University OAU, Ile Ife, could not hold back their tears as a 300-level student, Aliu Asisat Olashile, from Faculty of Pharmacy is dead.  It was learnt that the deceased passed away on Tuesday night, and the cause of her death was not disclosed. The leadership Pharmaceutical Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, OAU, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday on their official social media handle.  According to the statement,  "We are displeased to announce the demise of Sister Azeezat. Tragedy As Missing OAU Student Killed By Ritualist

Tijani Abdulkareem The decomposed body of 18-year-old Quadri Salami, a 100-level student at Obafemi Awolowo University, who had been missing since November, was discovered in a shallow grave in Mile 6, Ajemo area of Abeokuta. Two suspected ritualists, Akeem Usman and Ifadowo Niyi, confessed to slaughtering the victim, dismembering his body parts, and selling them for rituals.  Niyi allegedly took Salami's head and wrists, paying N100,000 to Usman. The suspects continued selling other body parts to internet fraudsters, burying the heart, legs, and flesh for rituals. The police, led by Commissioner Abiodun Alamutu, exhumed the body parts after tracing a clue to Akeem, arrested with the victim's phone.  The suspects admitted using four other human heads for money rituals. They are in custody, facing prosecution, as the police vow to ensure justice and eradicate such crimes.
