Breaking: Clean Water Tank Project Officially Adopted into OAU SDG Youth Club Workplan


 In a significant step toward achieving clean and safe water access for students, the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) SDG Youth Club has formally integrated the Clean Water Tank Project into its official workplan.

This was disclosed in a meeting held between Ajibola Badrudeen, the president and project coordinator of the OAU SDG Youth Club and Engr. Akinade, the head Water Engineering Unit Department.

The meeting addressed the key issues affecting water supply in OAU hostels which include: Dirty and unsafe water, Rusty pipes and Frequent pipe breaks and leaks.

During the discussion, the Project Coordinator commended the university management for their effort in managing the current water situation with limited resources. Engr. Akinade expressed his enthusiastic support for the initiative, stating that he would be glad to inform the Vice Chancellor about this positive development.

A major outcome of the meeting was the decision to officially incorporate the Hall Water Tank Project into the OAU SDG Youth Club’s campus-wide workplan — a crucial step towards ensuring clean and safe water for all students.

The President also took the opportunity to appreciate OAU management for their continued commitment, support, and kind gestures in helping the club move closer to achieving SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) — both within our halls of residence and across the Obafemi Awolowo University community.

The OAU SDG Youth Club noted that it t was proud to announce that the Clean Water Tank Project is now a reality in all OAU hostels!
