BREAKING: Tinubu Signs Bill To Restore Old National Anthem

President Bola Tinubu has signed into law a bill that reverts the national anthem to its original version. The bill, which was passed by the Senate on Tuesday and the House of Representatives last Thursday, seeks to replace the current anthem with the one adopted at Nigeria's independence in 1960.

According to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who announced the development during a joint session of the National Assembly, the new national anthem is a return to the country's roots. The original anthem was replaced in 1978 by the military regime of Olusegun Obasanjo.

During the joint session, the Senate President encouraged Nigerians to familiarize themselves with the new national anthem, which was sung upon President Tinubu's arrival in the House chamber.
