NANS Tackles OAU, UNILAG Over Planned Tuition Fee Hikes

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has sent a stern warning to both Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) over their plans to hike tuition fees. NANS, in a statement released by its Senate President, Akinteye Babatunde, has vowed to resist any attempt by these institutions to increase fees, describing the move as unjustifiable and oppressive.  Babatunde condemned the planned hikes, which he says would further burden students and their families during an already challenging economic period. “This is an unacceptable attack on students’ right to affordable education. We will not sit back and allow Vice Chancellors of OAU and UNILAG, among others, to impose fee increments that are clearly designed to exploit students,” Babatunde said in a press briefing.
