A 14-year-old student of Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia has shot two students and two teachers to death. According to Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey, Nine people were hospitalized, four with gunshot wounds, the bureau said. The suspected shooter, a 14-year-old student at Apalachee, was taken into custody by the school resource officer who engaged him, Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said at a news conference. The High School received a phone call this morning warning there would be shootings at five schools and that Apalachee would be the first, law enforcement sources in Georgia told CNN. The shooting is at least the 45th school shooting in 2024, according to a CNN analysis.

Some residents of Calabar have lamented the high cost of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, describing it as highly worrisome. The residents who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday also expressed worries that the product was scarce even when being sold at between N880 and N950 per litre. NAN reports that some motorists arrived at the NNPC station in Stadium Junction as early as 3.00 a.m. to queue up and wait for sales to begin. Speaking to NAN, Mr Johnson Effiong, a motorist, expressed worries that petrol was not being sold to customers even when the station got supplies on Monday. “We saw petrol being discharged on Monday; based on this, I came here at about 3.00 a.m. to queue up, but they have yet to commence sales. “The pump attendants are here, but they are not dispensing products to customers.
